Q:I have been given an academic advisor, but their research area is not the same as mine. Should I apply to change advisors?
In order to help students identify their research interest, the NRES department will assign each student an academic advisor. This is not an official advisor, and will not necessarily be the same person as a student’s thesis advisor/supervisor. This is a temporary affiliation to help students get organized, and the academic advisor you have been assigned to can answer all questions you have about research, regulations, and help you connect with professors who share your research interests. However, you are invited to contact other professors who share your research interest and begin discussing research opportunities and possible thesis topics with them. 瀏覽數
