【Event】NRES GSS Gardening Project 2.0

Another success event organized by NRES Graduate Students Society (GSS) last Saturday. Students from our college and other faculties participated to work together in this event. Timothy, our PhD student instructed them about permaculture. They continued their practical engagement with gardening in three main ways:

  1. Cleaned and tidied up the 3rd floor college balcony gardening project.
  2. Celebrated 2 years anniversary CES compost bin by organizing a composting workshop
  3. Planted useful and edible plants in the shrubby area in the back of the College garden next to the compost bin.

The plants, such as Pandan, Chili, Basil, Banana, and Papaya, will be planted among the existing shrubbery “permaculture” style. The idea is to use them for their edible and/or useful benefits and education for all coming generations of students. Together with the existing compost, they represent a mini ecological cycle: farm  plate  compost  farm.
